A lot of people might disagree with me when I say that Wood Harris is one of the greatest actors of his time, but I stand by my opinion. He’s not only an incredible actor but he’s also got a lot of awards to back up my claim. Who is Wood Harris?

Wood Harris is an American actor who has appeared in several television shows and movies. He is best known for his role as drug kingpin Avon Barksdale on the HBO series The Wire. Harris was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 17, 1965. He began his acting career in theater, appearing in productions of A Raisin in the Sun and Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. In 1994 he made his first film appearance in Above the Rim and subsequently starred in crime dramas such as Dead Presidents (1995) and Liberty Heights (1999). In 2002 he co-starred with Vin Diesel in Film. In 2003 he joined the cast of HBO’s gritty drama The Wire, playing gangster Avon Barksdale until 2006.
